About Pakistan Mountaineering Club
Pakistan Mountaineering Club (PMC) is the country’s leading adventure organization dedicated to exploring and promoting the breathtaking northern regions of Pakistan. Our passion lies in creating unforgettable journeys through some of the most spectacular mountain landscapes on Earth, where towering peaks meet lush valleys and ancient cultures thrive.
The northern areas of Pakistan offer a world of adventure waiting to be discovered. From the flower-filled meadows of Fairy Meadows with its dramatic views of Nanga Parbat, to the historic Baltit Fort overlooking the terraced fields of Hunza Valley, each destination tells its own unique story. The crystal-clear waters of Attabad Lake, formed by a massive landslide in 2010, now shine as a turquoise jewel amidst the rugged Karakoram mountains.
Skardu serves as our primary gateway to adventure, where the mighty Indus River carves its path through dramatic gorges. This historic town, with its ancient Kharpocho Fort perched high above, offers access to the high-altitude wonderland of Deosai Plains – often called the “Land of Giants” for its unique wildlife and summer wildflower displays. Nearby, the serene Satpara Lake reflects the surrounding peaks like a perfect mirror.
What sets our expeditions apart is our deep connection to these lands and their people. We don’t just pass through these valleys – we engage with local communities, stay in traditional guesthouses, and learn about centuries-old mountain cultures. Whether it’s sharing stories with villagers in the remote Shigar Valley or exploring the ancient rock carvings along the Silk Road near Gilgit, every PMC journey combines adventure with authentic cultural experiences.
Our carefully crafted itineraries cater to all levels of adventurers, from gentle walks through apricot orchards to challenging treks across high mountain passes. The Karakoram Highway, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” serves as our main artery, connecting these incredible destinations while offering some of the planet’s most dramatic road journeys.
At PMC, we believe in responsible tourism that benefits local communities while preserving these fragile mountain ecosystems. Our guides are all local experts with intimate knowledge of the terrain, culture, and history. They’ll show you not just the famous sights, but the hidden gems known only to those who call these mountains home.
Join us to experience the magic of Pakistan’s northern areas – where every turn in the trail reveals new wonders, and every journey becomes a story worth telling for a lifetime. Whether you’re seeking peaceful moments in mountain villages or the thrill of high-altitude adventure, PMC will guide you to experiences that will stay with you forever.
