13 DAYS | LAND OF THE GIANTS (BARF) 2025

For the bold and the brave, Land of the Giants 2025 is a 13-day motorcycle adventure built for riders who crave elevation, challenge, and raw beauty. Specially curated for BARF (Bay Area Riders Forum) members, this route combines high-altitude tarmac thrills with rugged off-road mastery across some of Pakistan’s most iconic landscapes.

We begin in Islamabad, Pakistan’s lively capital, before catching a flight to Skardu, gateway to the Karakoram. From there, we ride straight into the skies — across Deosai National Park, known as the Land of Giants. At 13,500 ft, this plateau is the second-highest in the world and offers a surreal landscape of wildflower meadows, crystal-clear streams, and unending skies.

Our route weaves through the ancient villages and dramatic valleys of the Hunza region, before heading to Khunjerab Pass — the highest paved international border crossing on Earth (15,400 ft), where Pakistan meets China in a breathtaking convergence of peaks and glaciers.

The crown jewel of the journey awaits in Shimshal Valley, a remote settlement known for its fearless mountaineers and the infamous “Death Road.” With its narrow paths, vertical drops, and unpredictable terrain, this stretch is a true test of both rider and machine — and one of the most rewarding rides in the world.

As we descend, the journey takes us back through Gilgit, over the mighty Babusar Pass, and into the lush valleys of Naran, before finally returning to Islamabad — transformed, exhilarated, and filled with stories that few on Earth will ever be able to tell.
